taken from the swamp at Shortland through smoke, fog, high cloud and Scott alders reflection………and a few late mozzies



stacked in DSS and entirely processed in Pixinsight

May have been very trying conditions David but you ended up with a very nice clean image with great focus and good colour.

Yes, I think you brought out some of the darker regions more clearly - better contrast and more natural dark greys. The colour in the Lagoon looks a bit better as well.

Very nice image Houghy.

You can also bring up dark lanes by setting the sponge tool to burn (or is it dodge?) and about 5% and rub it on the dark areas (sshh don't tell anyone, its a trade secret). You can overdo it though. Light touch is always a good policy when image processing.

Thanks for the trade secret Greg - i'll be sure not to tell anyone about it;). But as i said earlier - i processed this entirely in pixinsight - no photoshop used(except for resizing the image and then saving for the web.)

ok one of those repro practices might happen but i would prefer to get this again under dark skies - maybe it would stand out with longer subs and more images - this image added up to be only 1 hours worth
