Just a note to say Hi, and what a fantastic site this is. I'm getting back into astonomy after a 10 years or so break, and I've found the information available here so useful and interesting. I'm waiting now on the delivery of my new scope (Nexstar 8SE) to replace the old 6" Dob and I can't wait for first light :D
I'll be in touch

Welcome back to the hobby, Chris. I also took a break for a few years before returning. You'll love your 8SE. Look forward to hearing all about it in the forums!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys

I'm champing at the bit to get the new scope. I took advantage of a very good Xmas special sale - $$'s good :) but I don't get my hands on it until the end of October :(
From some of the threads on IIS and Cloudy Nights I have some trepidation about potential alignment / backlash adjustment problems, but I know where to ask for help . I'll post my findings in due course.
My 20 year old (self assembled kit) Dob is in need of repair and out of action.
In the meantime my 11x80 Fielder bino's are working overtime.

Heya.

Long time lurker, first (well maybe post #3) time poster.

I too have been out of the astro loop for about 10 years, but I recently got a nice CPC925 and had it out last night with some great astro company.

It's so nice to be back in the fold :D

It will soon be like you have never been away from astronomy.
