Each month they publish a printable basic sky map with a list of the best objects to view.
Its at the right price and a good place to start :)
(Just make sure you download the Southern Hemishpere one)

Chech your local Saturday paper also, the Murdock press runs a star chart once a month that is very informative about objects available and here in SA only cost the 1.60 for the paper.

Of course you can always subscribe to all the astronomy Mags:P
I just cant help myself:2thumbs: each has something to offer & I find myself going back to them year after year to see whats good in the sky that month.

Getting a good planisphere is essential for general navigation and the Royal Astronomical Society of New Zealand has a stunning set of charts by constellation by month. Have a look
