I've decided to sell my 16-35L F/2.8 mk1 to help fund a new 70-200.

This is the mark one version. It is a professional grade lens. It is in excellent optical and mechanical condition. It has, however, seen a lot of use and has some scuff marks and minor scratches on the lens hood and on the body. These things are built like a tank! The optics are clean and clear and free from any scratches, fuzz, etc. See pictures for condition below.

The lens works as an ultrawide lens of Full Frame (e.g. 5D) or as a standard wide angle zoom on crop cameras (20, 30, 40, 50D etc).

A review of the lens can be found here, comparing the 16-35 with the 17-35 it replaced.

http://www.luminous-landscape.com/reviews/lenses/16-35.shtml

The 16-35 Mark 1 is no longer sold and has been replaced by the 16-35 Mark 2 which retails for ~$2300AU.

These don't come up for sale very often and I am am asking just $1125AU express post included within Australia. Paypal or direct deposit. SORRY NO PICKUPS.

Included is lens, lens caps, lens hood and canon lens pouch. No box.

First to PM me they'll take it get's it.

cheers,

Rob

Errr, um, maybe, possibly but why "no pickups"?

Not everyone is entirely comfortable with strangers knowing the location of their astronomy love nest :) For the same reason, some people like to keep descriptions of their gear out of their signatures.

Robert,Ric;
Fair point, but "try before you buy" is my motto on pre-loved gear.
Anyway SWAMBO declares that if I'm going to buy a Dob, a Go-To GEM and some EPs there better be some leftover for a piano or a horse or ???
So I'll have to demure.
G'luck with the sale. Its a lurverly piece of glass.

Definitely interested. Has the lens ever been dropped or are any of the markings from a significant 'knock'?

I hope you don’t mind the off topic comment, but I have purchased a Tak Mewlon 180 from Robert and it arrived in an as new condition – he appears to look after his gear very well.

Cheers

Dennis

Thanks for the nod, Dennis :-),

The sorry no pickups thing is a convenience for me really. I'm flatout at work and have little time at home and my family aren't all that keen on me bringing my hobby home.

I've sold a lot of gear and lenses here to IIS members with no hassles.

I've owned this lens for a little under a year and looked after it, but it was owned by a professional wedding photographer before that and well used. This means it has signs of normal wear, scuffs and minor scratching on the body. The glass to my eye is unmarked and optically perfect. The lens does not have any signs of any significant knock.

cheers,

robert
