FREE to whoever wants to pick it up from Bacchus Marsh.
Low wattage 240V AC and 13.8V DC generator - 2 stroke governed motor.
Unfortunately, no volts out
I bought this second hand. It worked well on purchase and in my garage. Took it to site, set it up and ran it for some hours. Nice and quiet and it powered my laptop for several hours.
Then, the engine note changed for a second or two, then returned to normal - but the power had vanished
I have pulled it apart and checked all the wiring and thermal and overcurrent cutouts, but cannot find anything unusual. I've tried to check for open circuit in the various coils but no problem found. I've checked that the generator is still turning - it is, since it is on a rigid axle with the motor.
So I give up.
Your options:-
1. Give it a thump and it works again? :)
2. Get into it and find out what is wrong and fix it? :)
3. Forget about the generator and use the nice little governed 2 stroke motor for another purpose - water pump? :D
I have the instruction book for what it is worth. Also made up a little wooden frame so it could stand out of the mud and wet grass. That can be yours as well for free.
I do have a plastic jerry fairly full of two stroke fuel and a bottle of two stroke oil. Those items I will sell to the new owner of the genny, if they want them. (I don't have a whipper snipper any more.)
PM me.
