Hi all

Despite the poor seeing I've experiences and a sadly missed opportunity of excellent seeing on the 26th, here are some rough images showing Mars and an associated dust storm on the 25th and 27th - if any of you are interested!?!?. You'll note a large bright strip that appears to curve from around mid disc south (to the west of Margaritifier around Solis Lacus.) Cleary it was a large but only short lived event since it is virtually non-apparent in the image from the 27th. If any of you have images also from these days (especially the 26th) it would be good to see them.

--sorry folks.. :mad2: images won't upload for some reason so I'll post on my home site.http://members.optushome.com.au/ssmassey/mars.html

yes others have apparently had the same problem with uploading images today

well nice to know the dust storm has subsided and its not going to be a repeat of 2001 ...if the clouds part for long enough for us to have a look at the planet

Indeed. I was very lucky to get the images I did in 2001 only days before the major storm errupted :)

Thanks Beren and Atlas. It's also great to see other members like Robert chasing this stuff down down too. God knows we need some better weather here!

I never get enough of your images Steve.
When I need a pick-me-up after a bad night or lousy weather I check out your work.

Thanks for sharing mate.

Cheers.
