Hi all!!

Spent all of today, trying to get the jist of HDR imaging.
The morning did not present much, but the evening shots got better.
These were the best, of the bunch I took. All were taking after it was dark.

I used Picturenaut to combine frames, taken at -2, -1, 0, +1, +2 exp settings.

Only slight adjustments in Gimp.

Any advice would be very much appreciated. :)

Some great effects there Mitchell
Looked into HDR ages ago, now forget what it involves ?? combination of 3 pics, or something like that??

Thanks!!

Yes 3 images would be adequate, for most photos.

I think the key to it's utilisation is to not over do the tone mapping or you end up with images like the telegraph pole or the tree. More a 3d rendered look, not particularly aesthetically pleasing, but an interesting effect none the less.

I love the one with the house and front steps.
It almost has am " eerie" feel to it.

Keep posting more.

Well done.

Thanks!! :)

I like the effect it gives to buildings / stonework... I must head up to the local sandstone church with stained glass windows, to give it a shot on that. I think it would come up alright.
