does the Baader coma corrector have any benefits when used in a refractor.

I once tried MPCC with ED120 out of curiosity but didnt have any luck.

I'm using one on my TMB 80mm F/6 APO... works a treat.. Spacing is horribly critical... normally the MPCC states it requires 55 +/-2mm to achieve best results... with a refractor, I've found that 55mm gives a good result. anything else gave almost NO change...

Providing you get the spacing exact, the results are great..

I can post before and after images if required... Just let me know if you want them.. I can post a low res image with and without the reducer with 100% crops of the corners of both...

I championed the Alex theory above Mick, tried a Televue 0.8x with the same scope and while it worked, I didn't care for the reduction, so spent some time mucking with the MPCC.
I also used one with the W/O FLT110, and more recently with the FLT132.
Cheap, and no reduction, both pluses in my book.

I use it on a 5" newt and on an ED80. It's a good all rounder. As Alex said spacing is critical so I got a telescopic adapter made so I can vary the spacing depending on which scope I'm using it. The official distance from the CCD place is 55mm. On my 5" newt I use it close to 53.5mm as for the ED80 I use it closer to 56mm.
