All,

Here is an image of Jupiter taken on the evening of September 10 from Murrumbateman in reasonable conditions.

Some detail is visible inside the GRS and the remains of the debris cloud is still apparent at top right on the limb, just coming into view. The dark red material gathering behind the GRS is also interesting, it's been there for a while now and shows no sign of dissipating. The GRS hollow is very pronounced and the GRS itself seems disconnected from the rest of the SEB.

The shadow of Ganymede is visible just north of the GRS and the NEB is a mass of turbulent activity with at least two intense white spots visible and a number of red and red/blue storms. All in all, Jupiter is a fascinating sight at the moment.

cheers, Bird
