Well done Troy,
A couple of very nice images, what imaging equipment did you use and which Powermate?
Some very nice detail and processing looks good.
Cheers
Trevor
Thanks guy's
Ha Ha if your moving north desler I recommend the Hunter :)
Quark I'm using the 5x powermate and the camera is a Skynyx 2-0
Nice work Troy, btw if you put south at the top like this then convention also wants east on the left, so you need to do a horizontal flip :-)
cheers, Bird
Thanks, for the tip Bird
Paul Haese gave me another tip, to lower the gamma.
Wow! A 5x with a C9.25????
I've never gone beyond a 4x and even then it was a bit too much for the seeing and the image scale.
I've never heard of anyone working at f50 with a C9.25
Hi matt,
The seeing condition wasn't that great on the 12th, but I was like a kid with a new toy.
The 5x powermate actually surprised me with it's performance on the night and when the seeing conditions improve it would really shine.
Surely someone else is using this combo C9.25 with a 5x powermate?

Wow that's amazing! I can't even manage to use the 2x barlow with my Neximage and 8SE. Details are absolutely stunning.

I really like the second image of the second lot of images. Very nice and smooth. Lots of detail present too.
Actually, while f50 is not often used on Jupiter, there are a few chaps using it on Mars in the Northern hemisphere. I could not do f50 myself as the image scale would be far too large. Using a 2x with the filter wheel provides an image scale with just 20 pixels top and bottom when imaging Jupiter. I do wonder though how you are getting enough light onto the sensor.
Thanks Crusader for your kind words. The camera I'm using now is a lot more sensitive than celestrons neximage and I would not like to image with any thing less than the C9.25 because the light gathered from the 8" would be less.
Thanks Paul for your encouragement,
I really wish I had more light falling onto my camera sensor. The way I'm going about it at the moment is only half filling the histogram. I'm not sure if this is the right way yet, just trying things out.

Hi Troy,
Nice work! I am yet to try the 5x Powermate on my dob, I hope I get as good as you have captured.
These are especially good considering they were taken in the morning.......yes, sorry to point out the time on the pics is listed at 10-34am, astounding xray scope you have there, it goes clean through the earth! ;)
Minor typo but some damn fine images :)
Well done..
Cheers
Chris
Hay Chris thanks for pointing that out I had no idea!
