IC1275 withMN190

Hi all making the most of these clear skies, imaged this over several nights in Sagittarius with QhY9 camera and Orion mN190 on EQ6 mount.
Ha for Lum. 4 hrs
red1.8 hrs
green 1.5 hrs
blue 1.8 hrs
Not sure why the halos around bright stars with the Ha filter not sure if it is a reflection or leakage through the filter ?

Could be a series of double internal reflections from the thick Maksutov corrector. The radii of the corrector are concentric, and given the specific wavelength of Ha, you might expect a series of evenly spaced concentric rings with sharp boundaries - which is what we are seeing (look at the brightest star - 3 concentric rings evenly spaced). Another factor may be that anti-reflection coating is not as effective toward the end of the spectrum ?

Thanks David for your thoughts on the reflections, I also get them with my newtonian and former Qhy8 camera and have tried 2 different Ha filters. Currently using 13nm Astranomik , might try moving the filter from the filter wheel to the nose adaptor.

Nice shot Ken.

Tracking down reflections can be tricky. Most I have seen come from reflections off the filter and back from a reducer or flattener.

Were you using a flattener or reducer?

Thanks James & Steven I haven't seen any other 190 MN images on this site guess not many around , surprising considering the price and flat field at F5.3 with no other correctors needed. Thanks Greg no flattener or corrector used in the MN but I do use a coma corrector on my Newtonian both seem to have the same Ha halos. Interesting when using my previous QHY8 one shot colour the Ha stars were red with blue halos the only blue in a red image. The optical window in front of the ccd sensor may have a blue anti reflection coating with the mirror like coating on the Ha filter causing light to bounce around between them.
