Very nice Trevor. So much to look at. Adds some perspective to the whole thing.
Well done.

Thanks Doug, Marc and Dave.
I personally like the widefield stuff at the moment (since I cant do anything better with my equipment )
1) it helps me to learn how to navigate the skies.
and
2) it's strange to think that all that is there directly in front of your eyes and yet you cant see it in the way that a camera sees it.
I don't think I have the colour balance quite right yet. I work from a laptop and once I put it on a real screen, it seems a little green to me.

Hi Robbie,
No, it is a stock standard 1000d with the kit EF-S IS 55-250mm lens.

Ahh great thanks Im just getting into DSLR from CCD and have bought a new 50d with assorted lenses (will see 1st light when the weather clears its been overcast in Perth for over a month) I just cant bring myself to pay 1500 + bux for a camera body then have someone tear it to bits for a mod Im just happy you can get good to great results unmodded,
I would be satisfied well and truly with a shot like that.

Trevor,
Nice widefield there. I can notice the green cast in the image. You should be able to remove that with subtle levels and curves in Photoshop.
Regards,
Humayun
Yeah. I had a similar result imaging the same area recently. A noticeable green cast.

The colour cast seems to also disappear with longer exposes. I did a slightly wider view a 5 mins subs and the green cast disappeared. Yes I can remove it withing PS either way, but I think it is also sensitivity of the stock camera.
Will post my last ones in another post.
