Gday :) here's some pics of the surrounds of Marillana village a workcamp located near BHPs Yandi Iron ore minesite roughly 105km northwest of Newman in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Used a Nikon D700 along with a small variety of lens {50mm AF1.4,60mm 2.8AFS,28-70mm 2.8AFS,300mm 4AFS}. Cheers for looking

Great shots beren. It looks like a part of the country worth exploring.
I would like to get over there one day.
Cheers

Great shots, Stuart.
I really like 3 and 5.
the fourth shot would be a winner in one of the astrophotography competitions...

Excellent series of shots, Stuart. I bet the skies were nice and dark!
Hi Stuart,
One of my favourite parts of Australia. Beautiful shots. I particularly like the
vistas in the first and last shots. Thanks for sharing!

Stuart,
Magnificent series.
For me, however, the first shot takes the cake.
It resonates with a lot of the work that I do.
The image imparts and provides a grand sense of scale.
I would love to shoot sunrise and sunset out that way.
Once again, wonderful portfolio.
Regards,
Humayun

That's a particularly picturesque area in the Pilbura .... beats the billard table on the coast .... Tom Price and Parraburru are also very picturesque (out of town).
Not been to Newman , but Port and South Hedland are .... well boring scenary wise , in that here is no scenary , and all the big trees get blown down every few years when big tropical cyclones hit the coast.
You on FIFO or living at Newman ?
