I couldn't get the alignment right tonight and with the seeing being very cr---y, i tried a few different shots. Now Striker I have your spaceship - the blue reflection in a few images.
I also got a shot throught the intes scope but I couldn't get focus right, but it shows the trapezium ok

thanks ken, I took it because I wanted to see the polar alignment and show the terrible light pollution.
Interesting shots Dave, I like the star trails too.
The Trap image is promising too.
Once you get polar alignmt you'll be able to go deeper.
And I supect once you have the ST4 up and running then your long exposures will be top notch.

RB a little birdy told me that you have a ST4 as well? Is that true?????
Yep Dave I've got an ST4. I bought it about 3 years ago (I think).
I've used it only once with the LX 200.
Back then I was really new to the hobby and I was using it in ALT AZ mode :stupid:
Since I only had film to use back then, I didn't try again because the photos were rubbish, but now that DSLR's and CCD is here, I plan to learn how to polar align and use the ST4.
Louie will show me how to polar align and Rumples will advise me too so I can't wait.
