Took this of Monday night's storm in Syd. Tried to take a sequence of them but as Murphy's Law would have it, the strikes took place during the self-timer count down sequence
So here's the "best" out of 5 I took, pretty ordinary.
Canon 20D, f22, 30sec, 18-55 zoom, ISO100

Thanks for the tip David. Would be a great shot yep, but I use the cross in the daytime to line up my finder scope ;)

Pretty neat shot Adam, I like the lightning pattern. My advice, stick to around f11, ISO 800 and keep the shutter open (use a remote for this). Have a thick piece of Black cardboard and when it's quiet, place it right in front of the lens (and against it of course), so that little or no light enters. When you see some lightning activity, remove cardboard and voila.

Thanks for the advice, will definitely try for that again. Funny thing when the storm was happening I was in the middle of preparing dinner and dropped everything to set up and try and get some shots in :)
