At that price I would take a couple as well, looking for a lightweight mount to throw in the car and mount my 350D on it.

Ok, I just bought one for $99. I will see what happens !

The little Cube does the job admirably. At less than half the price.:)
I still use mine for wide fields.

Hmmm, I was very tempted but thought I would check with Extravision first, the reply : Thank you for your e-mail, no this is a typo - it should read soft carry bag for Smart Star products. The Cube Pro is $999.00 which is the second listed product in the Telescope section.
Not too surprising I guess. Mark

Well, you never know till you ask.
I went onto their site and tried to buy one of these. Interesting.
1. The payment by credit card mechanism doesn't work and the pay by bank transfer mechanism throws up a BSB of 123456 and an a/c number o f 123456789.

Beginning to sound bogus?

On the site there is no direct contact point. But I Googles them and found they have an office in Murrarie in brisbane. So I rang them.

1. We're a wholesaler and don't sell to the public;
2. The product mentioned is in fact a carry bag and not a mount;

So don't get too excited. It's a complete dud.

They pulled it off the site, AFTER I paid & was invoiced. Law states Items listed at an advertised price must be sold in good faith (as advertised).
Payment did go through to Extravision

Here it is

Hope they don't do the dirty on you.

Dell had to cough up cheap monitors or laptops in a similar situation a few years ago from memory...I think they mostly cover themselves in the fine print for such typos nowadays..

Good luck David. How did you ascertain that the payment went through to Extravision? Did you do a credit card or Bank Transfer? If the latter, was the BSB and a/c number 123456 and 123456789? That can't be a real BAB or a/c# surely.

If they don't supply you after receiving an invoice and proof of purchase from them, threaten to sue them. They've got to supply you the goods for that price, regardless of whether it was a mistake or not.

Extravision have been around for a long time and as far as I know a reputable wholesaler. The fact that the ad has been pulled indicates that there was an error. In any case if the goods have been invoiced I would expect that you will receive them eventually however begrudgingly. Lucky buy.

Their bank is NAB and so I used my NAB and did a direct transfer which is instentanious (NAB to NAB) if the BSB & account are wrong it comes up as an error. It came up as Extravision Qld with a transfer number.
The numbers looked sus to me too, but it went through.
See how we go. I'm sure they know Consumer Law.

I was tempted to try to buy 1 of these but didn't go through with it. I wish I had tried now. Anyway good luck to you if you get it.

Anything for a bargain? It was clearly a mistake on the website. I wouldnt be suprised if they had some sort of fine print to stop this happening, but probably wouldnt feel morally right anyway ripping off a business for $900 over something so small and trivial

An email reply
"Our website is not set up to take any payments and the account details you use are not our account numbers - We have not received any payment. We are a wholesaler only and do not sell direct. If you like I can put you onto a retailer."

A copy of the last emails

Hi Steve, Not wanting to cause your fine company any grief (as I am an an amature Astronomer) you must be careful, the bank payment did go through with an authorisation number ( NAB#S6742096707 8-9-09 $137). Your company had the wrong price on the web site and I was billed accordingly and promptly paid.
I noted my account was credited $137 this morning. I would have a word to your IT people.
I will leave it at that. I dare say some others would not.
Good luck with your fine Astronomy equipment company.
regards Dave Ulbrick

I am very sorry for the problems caused here but please understand that we are in the middle of setting our website up and the details at that time were in a testing transition.
This is not the Extravision bank account - these are test numbers only and are invalid. Your bank which you made the payment through would have rejected the payment because the BSB and Account numbers were invalid. No payment has been received.
The Cube Pro does not have a price of $99.00. It has a RRP of $999.00.

Best Regards

Hope You made a screen dump of the advert if it's been pulled since you saw it.

I've dealt with Extravision have nothing but praise for them.... still if they advertised a price for something (even by mistake, and the mistake may have been a typo by the advert maker who may not work for them) then if you placed an order , and have proof you did , they should honour it and put it down to experience on their part.

Best of luck.

Today I received a signed letter of apology from the Sales Manager at Extravision and a complementary copy of Eye in the Sky book.
There seems to have been a glitch or two in their online ordring system.
I found Extravision great about the whole thing and would not hesitate in dealing with Extravision again.
After all we need to support our local suppliers.
