Hi, having read a lot about corrected Dall-Kirkham's recently, I was wondering if anyone (either commercially or ATM) was working on a corrector/flatenner (not reducer necessarily) for the Tak Mewlons. I own a Tak Mewlon 250 and it produces stunning results on axis, as one would expect given Tak quality and the DK design.
Thanks,
Chuck

Hi Chuck, how about this

Hi David, I'm aware of that one, has anyone used it visually? It would be relatively easy to have an AP 2" extender tapped for the threads on the Takahashi 0.8x reducer/field flattener/corrector, but will it work and will it come to focus?

Hmmm, this is interesting.
I don't have the Mewlon, but I working on a DK Cass.
Chuck, how is your Mewlon work with wide angle eyepieces? Like the 24mm Panoptic?
I wonder if this would work with my optics?
The primary is f4 so I assume it has less coma than the Mewlon.
Anyone has the optical description for OSLO?
Mick.

Actually, my views with my 35mm Panoptic seem good, my 22mm Panoptic (which has been my favorite eyepiece for some time) is more bothersome. For example I can bring Jupiter and it's moons in the 22mm Pan and notice coma on the moons. In my C11, the moons were nice round little pinpoints, but the on axis views of the planet were not in the same league as the Mewlon. A visual flattener/corrector would seem to be just the ticket as long as it did not degrade on axis performance.

Takahashi has come out with a visual / photographic in baffle corrector /flattener.
Here's a link on the Takahashi Japanese web site ..

I know what I want for Christmas ...

Reading the Japanese/English translation it appears to be only for the larger Mewlons; that is, the 250 and 300. It also looks like a retrofit of the baffle is required?
Cheers
Dennis
