Some people call this pairing the Southern Double Cluster.

Taken last December with the SN10. Reprocessed with the current HDR method. Guiding was a bit iffy as the modded EQ6 had over 40kg payload above the mount and there was intermittent breezes. I have since fixed this by adjusting out the tiny amount of backlash that was present in the worm gears. I have also changed the guidescope FL to double the original. I am also tuning the paracorr distance to better suit the SN10.

Canon 5DH, Meade SN10 with Paracorr so scope is now f/4.6and a FL of 1160mm, Fridge at -10C.
Exposures 10x( 30s, 1m, 2m, 4m) ISO 800.

I should be so lucky Leon. I am reprocessing selected older data as I think I have finally got on top of my HDR method. This data was collected last December. I did have a lovely clear night but with a near full Moon.

I have to do something constructive while I wait for clear skies.

Very nice indeed. I can see whay it is called the Southern Pliades.
Those SN10's are wonderful instruments. Allan got some lovely images from Astrofest with his SN10.
The AR coated corrector plates are great. My 6 inch SN has no AR coatings and gives awful ghost images when bright stars are present.

shows the associatd nebulosity very well, i wonder what you could do with the regular Pleaides, as they have far more extensive nebulosity,

you have your process working well now.
