Howdy

I am looking at getting one of these, with the "Orion" season being just around the corner, and hopeing to capture some large objects.

Can some of the "brains" in here help me?

would something like Bintels 0.5x reducer work fine on a 200m F5 newtonian?

Could i still use my MPCC, or would the reducer affect any coma anyway?

Does is just attach onto a T-Ring via a thread?

anything else you wanna share, would be great.

:P

Duncan,

I doubt if the MPCC and 0.5x reducer would be useable, especially since you will be running the scope around f2.5. The MPCC is designed for f3.5-f5 and additionally I am not sure what other aberations the reducer with introduce.

You really need a combined reducer/coma corrector design like the ones sold by ASA (expensive!).

Another alternative is to invest in a nice 200mm lens for your camera.
