Is anyone interested in watching a movie or two at Star Camp? I recently bought a home cinema projector that does a fantastic job on DVDs, and I'm thinking of bringing it along to the Camp... as long as there is somewhere to hang a 2.2m wide screen.
In the spirit of the occasion, a couple of titles I have come to mind:
2001: A Space Odyssey by Stanley Kubrick
Space Cowboys by Clint Eastwood
2001 I just got and still haven't seen it. I've only ever seen it on VHS, so I'm really looking forward to it. I also have a bunch of other great movies; some more family friendly than others.
Some might think it's bad luck to plan for cloudy nights activities, but on the other side of the superstition coin goes the argument that if one goes to a lot of effort to cater for cloudy nights, then Murphy's law will ensure that there won't be any in order to maximise effort wasted... ;)

That would be terrific Steve! Thanks!
The only DVD movie I have that anyone might be interested in is Star Trek 'First Contact'. and most have probably seen it. I'll bring it anyway.
Space Cowboys is Coooool!!!

Allright Ken, I'll bring PJ along then. Hopefully it will stay in its box because we'll have clear skies to look at instead. :D Fingers crossed that I'll be right to stay for the full four days. I'm making some arrangements for the babysittee...

WHAT!!!!! NO SOUND OF MUSIC! :scared: (Cheryl told me to say that  )
Steve, you are staying only 4 nights aren't you? There's enough movies there for a fortnight

Ken, we're not going to watch them all. You need a good selection to find just a few that people can agree on. I would love to have everyone else watch Sound of Music while skies are clear so I could have all their scopes and EPs all to myself for a couple of hours.
But I vote no to Sound of Music on a cloudy night. Also, I know they are supposed to be great (acc. to critics and viewers alike), and they do look good, but the Lord of the Rings movies bore me to tears. Sorry, Davo..

While Cheryl is not looking at what I'm typing: Sound of Music is BANNED from camp!!!!!
Sorry Davo but I found Lord of the Rings boring too. Yet it is popular.

They must have something, the LOTR movies, but I just don't get it. I have the first two on DVD, and next time I have a bad case of the flu, I would attentively watch them again, and properly (I never finished watching the 2nd one), but until then, I don't think I can bring myself to spend more time with these movies.
