I recently bought a WO FLT110 with a genuine finder-scope bracket. It attaches to the OTA with only one screw. I tighten the screw as much as I dare but even the slightest bump loosens it and mis-aligns the finder-scope. Is there a way of fixing this problem?

HI Rob

I have the Megrez 90 with genuine finder-scope bracket but I don't seem to have this problem. It connects with one screw as you mention but I don't recall having any problems with it. Seems to be secure and holds in place - not that I use it that often.

Perhaps an e-mail to William optics customer service may be able to assist. I have found them quite helpful and reply quickly to requests for assistance.

Is the screw too long? I have that problem mounting the RDF on the FLT98, and need to track down a screw about 2mm shorter.

Your other choice would be using a thread locking compound on it. To be on the safe side while applying it, I would remove the focuser assembly from the scope by backing off the three nylon grub screws and then pulling backwards on the focuser. You would likely want to use the non-permanent type :)

if you have room get a really thin spring washer (it is cut & bent in one spot), then screw into place - if you don't have room for thisyou could try a nylon screw - i bought an aftermarket bracket/screw for my 66 & didn't have any problems

This was indeed the problem. WO got back to me with the same advice so I took to the screw with a metal file. I takes a lot more effort to work it loose now...:D
