Dusty Carina with new improved HDR method.

Canon 5DH. Canon 300mm F2.8L at f/5. All at 400 ISO fridge at -10.0 C.

10x( 2, 4 & 8 min) exposures. Usual HDR method. New parameter adjustment method.

Has anyone seen those dust clouds or lanes before, scattered about the field?

I have never seen so many stars, I thought that area was relatively sparse (for the milky way that is)

Below is an animated gif of the same area from my image and one from the Spitzer Space IR Telescope.

The Spitzer image shows dark dust as a bright reddish colour.

In both cases you will see the relation between bright nebula and the dark dust.
I used RegiStar to align the images.

Fantastic! I've not seen that much dust in any amateur image before... Must be really nice to find something new in old data! :)

If you think about it Chris when dim dark dust is visible then very faint stars should also be visible as long as the resolution is adequate to show them. With HDR the bright stuff does not swamp the dim stuff so both are visible in the one image.
