View Full Version here: : ISS and Shuttle pass tonight!

Both the Shuttle and the ISS are passing overhead tonight.
It's going to be a tricky pass because the sky will still be quite bright (before 6pm for the shuttle and just after 6pm for the ISS).
I was hoping they'd be closer together, or even docked, but if I can capture both separately that will be just as cool :)
At least the Moon is in a great position to help with setting focus and exposure!

Missed the shuttle pass, the sky was just too bright. I couldn't see it at all.
ISS pass in a few minutes, hoping for better!

Had never seen it before. Couldn't believe how bright it got towards its greatest elevation. Hope you got some great pics Mike.

I called my significant other out who isn't generally impressed by astro stuff and even she was amazed as well. Not sure of mag but i'd have said -3.5 to -4 just from comparison to jupiter.

Totally clouded in here. I sent out emails to hordes of ppl tonight, but alas. The weather is against us.

I got a few frames, but a tree in my backyard meant I couldn't start capturing until it had just finished going overhead, so I missed the brightest, most stable part.
The shutter speed was too long to really freeze the action as I tried to track it in the finder scope.
Got a lot like this, but nothing really crisp and clean.
Got to be happy with that mate !
Very nice Mike.

Yeah, I'm with RB... that's cool!
I was clouded in here... didn't even give it a thought once the clouds were in place. I'm itching to see if I can capture it one day in the 16" lightbridge...:D.

Thanks Al and RB, I would've been happier if I got more like these, but without capturing through leaves which cut the brightness!
Dam i missed it  Nice pics Mike

Thats cool Mike ! I have to get a web cam and try that.
Nice capture Mike.
I got to watch it with the naked eye yesterday evening. It was just sitting ahead of the cloud cover.
Cheers
