ngc6357 with QHY9

Hi this is my first Lrgb with the QHY9 no Ha still seems to be plenty of red. NGC6357 in Scorpius is a nice emission area plenty of faint bits around the edge. Taken with 190 Mak- Newt on EQ6 mount, lum 1.2 red 1.2, green 1.2, blue 1.8 hours.

Nice shot, Ken. Maybe a touch too red, but plenty of detail there. Keep up the good work:D

Looks nice Ken....good detail,tone down the red a bit and increase the contrast a touch and should pop nicely.

Ken, here is my pic of the same object taken with a Canon 1000d. Apparently mine is washed out, and not strong enough looking, whereas yours is a little too red. i dont see much in it between the two, colourwise that is, so there must be a very fine line where "There is exactly enough red, and its exact saturated and bright enough"

Thanks guys for the feedback, your right the red over powers the detail. The QHY9 is weak in the blue I took some extra blue subs to compensate for this maybe I needed more.

Hi Ken,

Well the blue star stands out pretty well. Cant say about the red - whats a bit of red between friends anyway! I think its a great image.

I actually like the first one a bit more. But, I do agree with Louie, that if it had a bit more contrast, it'd finish it off.

That object looks so ominous!
