Hi all,
I am wondering who is planning on going to Rons out at Kenilworth this weekend? Ron is hosting yet another night in his wonderful backyard and I for one will be there with my new 12" Hot Water Service (install a Rheem) and my ETX90. Of course that is as long as the weather clears by then.
Dennis.

Unfortunetly I am attending a golf day including dinner at the Royal Pines resort on the Gold Coast...work is paying so I am going....lol

Paul is coming the following weekend as he is tied up this weekend, you are all still invited for the next weekend as well, seeing as the moon sets at my place at about 21:00 (or 09:00pm for the unitiated).PM me or Paul for directions.astroron  :astron:

According to my calculations the Moon sets this Sat around 14:26 (2:26pm)? It should be a good dark evening and not dark because of clouds either.
I plan to come even if the others dont as the following weekend will be nearing first quarter and not as dark with the 9:00pm setting so I reckon the pick of the weekends is this one coming. Having said that, if the weather is no good I will postpone until the following weekend.
See some of you this Saturday then. ;)

I'm out this weekend (though I might set the scope up in the backyard Saturday night if the weather is good). The following weekend is a possibility though - will know closer to the time.

Well with the weather the way it is (unpredictable bordering on bad) and with the general consensus being Saturday the 5th then I think I will cancel this weekend and aim for next weekend. Sorry Ron but it's too far to travel with the 12" just to have bad weather. See you Saturday week. Cheers, Dennis.

IF its fine I'll be there Ron. It's not looking promising though. That big high in the Tasman and that low through the NT and western- central Qld that's moving towards the coast looks like its bringing a fair bit of cloud to south east sunny  Qld.
Crystal waters wasn't too bad eventually. It cleared up enough to get a fair viewing of mars and some brighter DSOs. Seeing and transparency were pretty bad though.
Hi Ron:lol:
There was an invite through the forum, and I appreciate the invitation.
Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend this weekend...but hope to take advantage of your hospitality at another time...
As I am very new to astronomy and received much support through the forum, it would have been good to have met up with some of the people...anyway, hopefully another time.
thanks

Anyone made it out to Ron's on the weekend? The skies were downright crappy over here in Brissie. No observing done at all!!!!!!

Check with Ron but I stayed home under my umbrella, the new 12" dobbie is responsable for all this weather, I'm sorry. My wife is thinking of filling it with potting mix and turning in to some kind of shrubbery??? May as well I guess.

Weather has been the pits...but it has been clear last night and the night before. Now if only I did not have to do my experiments and go to the lab the next day :(
