Well the ordinary seeing continued last night. Despite the seeing looking a lot better during capture I would estimate it was somewhere around 5.5/10. This is largely due to the presence of the jet stream with lots of fine detail being lost. Large scale structure has been also affected by seeing but to a lesser extent.

I had to work this data quite a lot to achieve this result. The image scale really shows all the defects in the image, but beggars cannot be choosers at the moment. It has been a wet winter here for a change and our community can do with the rain more than I need to get Jupiter images.

Comments welcome.

Very nice image Paul in those conditions.

I got a few avis myself, the seeing looked very steady through the eyepiece, with calm surface conditions, very little star twinkle; but as you said the jetstream was very present.

All the best.

Good effort Paul,

Your summary of the conditions down there are pretty well the same as I experienced last night. The stars seemed stable but on the live feed the jetstream made its presence felt.

Anyway, regardless, its good to see you out imaging again. You have extracted some nice detail from your data to create a most pleasing image.

Trevor
