Finally got round to processing some shots. Here's 11x3mins of the lagoon through the 400D/paracorr/newt on iso 1600 with icnr and flats. I'm quite happy with how it turned out - especially give the added challenge of imaging on the final night after astrofeast.
Comments welcome.

I like it. Narrower FoV than I'm used to. Very smooth, though.

Peter that is just a beautiful image. Ahh the final night and few glasses of sherry I guess. At least I started on the Friday.
Congratulations

Those stars are sharp as! It's a very subtle rendition, I like that. You can really get into the detail around the Hourglass.

Peter,
Great looking shot. Very nice with the exposure so even across the entire FOV.

Wow, I wish I could get my M8 to look that good. Lovely shot.

Thanks for the comments everyone.
Troy, the FOV with this combination is about 1.2 degrees - about a third of the FOV of the 400D/ED80 combination. I'm really happy with how the colours turned out in this image - much more natural looking than some of my other attempts.

Very nice lagoon - it seems the Astrofest imaging community are now well practised with so many challenges on other nights that had to be overcome too. Especially that bottle of chocolate port from PeterM. Ah yes, challenging times ;)

Lovely image, a little dark but very nice. Can it take a little more lightening?

Nice clean image Peter. Lots of the soft detail in this nebula. You can clearly see the hourglass in the core. Nice work.

Thanks Jonathan, Greg and Doug. I'll have to try a bit more tweaking on my Astrofest images when I recover from the fatigue. It's always difficult to know when to stop processing.
Fortunately I managed to avoid the chocolate port this year so won't have to worry about recovering from that!

Chocolate Port? I never got any chocolate port.
Not that I'm a big drinker mind you.

I've heard it doesn't go down well with passion pops.

And Rum and Champers does?
Ohhh, that Steve Massey is a BAD influence.

Peter,
Oil painting time! That's come out gorgeous. As Greg said, it is a touch dark, but, it also has a really nice sheen to the image. Great stuff!

Thanks Les and Humayun. This is probably the image I'm most pleased with from my Astrofest attempts.
JJJ - nothing goes well with Rum and Champers (except a bucket).

It really is a very beautiful image Peter. I don't blame you for being proud of it.

It's okay so long as you're alternating and not mixing them together. Got rather giggly at one stage. :)
