The moon and a double star!!!

Tonight i was out again looking at jupiter and also the moon!!! It was the first time i saw the moon in my new 12" Dob and wow it looks amazing!!!!
I could actually see inside individual craters.

I also saw a double star that was very interesting.

I also recently got a 12inch and your right about jupiter and the moon. I saw alpha centuari which is an awesome double star. Are you observing from a dark site?

no im observing from my front yard with lots of street lights.

Hey Guys,

I felt the same way when I had first light with my 8 inch dob! Every bodies jaw drops when they see the moon in there !!!
Just a point to note, Alpha Centauri is actually a triple system. I can easily split the two main stars with my 26 mm, then even more with the 10mm plossl. But note that I cant see the third in my scope. (as I also reside in light saturated areas).

Do you mean Proxima Centuari? You should be able to see it with your scope.
