Its been a long time between images for me and I even had to look up notes on how to process.

Well, all the hard work has payed off, I have finally something to show.

This image was taken on Monday Night in the suburbs of Adelaide using the FSQ-106 and SBIG STL-11K combination.
The Trifid, Lagoon combo is an LRGB image comprised of 10 x 30sec exposures in each channel.
Darks, Flats subtracted and stacked using CCDSoft. Processed in Photoshop for final touches.

I have also included some crops from the main image of Trifid and Lagoon, and I am very impressed at the resolving power of this combo.

Now I that my image acquisition process is automated I can concentrate on the processing aspect of this hobby.
Cannot wait to give this combo a go in dark skies.

Thanks for Looking!
Mark

Very nice setup  I expect to see lots of stunning images!

Your focus looks slightly off in one of these. Perhaps a RoboFocus will be next on your list? :)

Thanks Roger!
The focus only seems out as the single M8 and M20 are crops, so the stars seem bloated. I was actually using a robofocus, I was getting an average FWHM of 3.5"arc-sec which just happened to be the imaging scale of the SBIG with the FSQ, so any smaller and I would not be able to resolve it.
The CFZ of the FSQ is 55 microns, so its been a challenge getting correct focus.
Cheers

Great start Mark.

FSQ/STL11 is one of the all time great imaging setups.
Have fun with that.

Virgs and I have knocked off the pier, Virgs asked who had abandoned it in my observatory. I said it was some guy named wysi and we had not seen him for months. He said, "well if he does not want it I'll use it".

Looking forward to the next new moon weekend now. I hope you have it all sorted and running for a Clayton run.
