My first dip in the lagoon.

Hi Guys.

Here is my first stab at the lagoon. Taken last night (15/08/09), its 16x5min subs, darks and flats, although I'm not sure my flats are right as I dont really see any difference in an image with out them :(. I'm new to processing and I'm having a hell of a time getting the image looking unwashed if you know what I mean. My monitor isnt calibrated either so it may look a bit to red.

16x5min subs
16x5min darks
16 flats
GSO 8"
Heqpro 5
Unmodded canon 1000D

I'm intending on adding more data tonight.

Help needed, so comments welcome.

Hi mate, thats a very good image, with some nice detail, my only comment would be that the overall contrast, or shadow of the image is quite dull, not something thats easily fixed.

Nice on though, i would be pleased with that.

I can get the contrast up but that burns out the core.

How have you been getting on of late?

Yeah mate, still plodding along, i will post some repros probably tommorow.

Try adjusting the shadows and highlights to bring more out. that said, its still a very good image
