Since my first Jupiter imaging session approx 2 weeks ago, I've managed two other sessions. I need a better mount, my EQ5 is a joke, but probably won't improve my picture, just the ease of taking it. I'm now using a 2.5x ED Barlow (suggestion from Birdy). If I'm very careful and stay relaxed, I can get 120 seconds out of my EQ5 (1200frames) before my nerves pop. The motors are murder to control via a rather moody control box. RA is too slow. I guess the "hail damage" on far right of the image is indicative of focus not being spot-on, I'm cutting a Bhatinov this arvo. And I really need to spend some time with Registax, I've been fumbling up till now.

Are there any bits of advice to keep my learning curve steep?

Hi Michael,

All positives with your progress, larger scale, nice detail and no burn out.

A good mount makes astronomy much more relaxing.

All the best.
