I will Let you know how it all goes...I am not looking at taking the LPI out of the box...too much to learn yet...just want to learn about the skies then when I feal comfortable how I am handling and operating this fine piece of equipment I will open the LPI......

Nothing like the smell of a new scope out the box, smells like Victory. How did you go, did you have fun putting the scope on the tripod?

I remember my first night, I was so excited. Just all those views.

Good luck again

All went well......I had no problem setting the scope up on the Tripod but I will buy or make a guide plate for sure....dont want to risk dropping it.

After aligning the spotting scope, I did the 1 star alignment on Betelgeuse cause thats the only Star I know the name off...thanks to Paul.....lol...

GPS and setup went perfectly, it slewed to Betelgeuse with NP...was slightly off but was clearly in the FOV...little adjustment on the control pad and all was fantastic.....next test was to key in Saturn and the M42 both locking onto the target almost perfectly centered in the FOV......

I just used my 26mm plossl that come with the scope but the quality of the view was very noticeable comparing when I put my 25mm and 15 mm plossl eypieces I received with my Dob.....the 26mm was much sharper image then my cheaper plossl's.

Anyway I had the deck chair out with about 4 litre's of Aeroguard covering my entire body and it was fantastic....had a ball just playing around with the keypad whilst relaxing on my deck chair....hehe

I am not purchasing eyepiece's yet but am I better of looking at 2" eyepieces then 1 1/4"...whats the benifits and do they outway the cost......

What do you recommend that is quality but not over priced....
