He wrote anonymously for the show under an assumed name...

"Most famously, many contributions for The Two Ronnies were submitted by a mystery writer called Gerald Wiley. Wiley had first gained credit for his work on the Frost on Sunday show, but no one had ever met him. His status as a recluse became well known among the comedy writing fraternity, to the extent that it became almost a challenge to discover his identity. Those guys are tops aren't they ! I have a whole stack of (mainly pommie) comedy dvds that I just watch thru again and again.

Another gifted comedian who may have escaped peoples' attention is a great old favourite of mine - Ken Dodd. Some of his TV stuff was a bit daft, but he could be very funny live on stage. Take a look at this segment .....
