I just bought my first Telescope at the age of 48. It is a old one Orion Skyview Deluxe 6" EQ which i found at a yard sale for a low price. I have been reading for days now and found out that not only am i lazy but i was told that they make a ra motor drive which i cannot find anywhere for this scope. Can anyone help me with this project. I was told that a accutrak dc motor #7825 was made for this model and also that a stellarvue m4 might work but cannot find them.HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go and checkout the Orion (http://www.telescope.com/control/main/) website. They may have something on the tracking motors there. There's also a stellarvue m4 mount going for $190 over at Astromart (http://www.astromart.com/classifieds/details.asp?classified_id=462980), and at Anacortes (http://www.buytelescopes.com/product_list.aspx?m_id=93&d=2) is the m4 motor drive for $129:D
Hope that helped:D

:hi:Thank you for your response. I was also told that i could buy a Celestron 93522 dual motor drive for this svd mount all i would have to do is build a bracket for the motors. Have you ever hear of this kind of modification? Mark

No, but it probably wouldn't be all that difficult. It'd only be a small bracket and would only clamp around the drive head, I'd imagine.
