I am still frantically flicking through settings trying to grab a good shot...

I see this is an art, one must be patient to learn.

More wet weather here, clouded out. I'm getting desperate, photographing sunsets again..

This was taken with my DSLR, free hand, standing on the roof.
Still getting use to the settings etc.

If I'd had one of my cameras with me I could have got almost the same shot from the M2 on the way home. :)

It could have had either the North Epping skyline from east of the tunnel, or the Pennant Hills Rd overpass, or the Baulkham Hills exit. They all face almost exactly west.

The late afternoon sun is blinding from all three of those locations.

Did you see the bellowing cloud system, in the middle of the horizon?

That is what I wanted to cature well, but it took too long to jump on the roof, then the cloud mass was behind that pine tree... Blast!!

T'was a bit unusual. I believe a person more akin to cloud formations, maybe able to clarify as to what it was... certainly interesting though.

Careful about telling the Seps that they don't have Gum trees. They might have more than us now. They didn't know what bush fires were until they introduced Gum trees; particularly in California.

I've seen a few "how we saved the Yanks" stories on this site. This time it was the volunteer Bush Firemen who taught the Americans how to tame Gum-oil fires. Well, as best they know how. Gum-oil fires have a tendency to let us know who's boss.
