G'day everyone!
Sorry I have been quiet lately, but I have been flat out with source code for a long time!
Finally, Canberra's eye is once more fixed on the sky.
After weeks of repair to this fine community resource that was pulled out from under our feet, we are finally up and running again.
Please check in on ASIGN as more images of the wonders of creation are brought to light when cloud-free nights prevail.
See you there!
Baz.

Thanks Carl..I'm exhausted...seeing code on the insides of my eyelids...what is the matrix?
Gonna go play a good shoot-em-up game now...get one eye to droop while a bead of slobber hangs off my bottom lip....something mindless...
Duuuuhhhhhhhh.....
Sounds like you've earned some playtime, enjoy it!
Will check out your new site.
Baz the new site looks great. Better then the last one well done getting back up and running mate.

Thanks Phil!
It's gonna be fun now to see what can be done with this new platform. So many features in the control panel! It's going to be a steep learning curve methinks!

Thanks David!
Let me know if you spot anything that needs correcting in your proof reading....
I have to find a way to save and upload my images that is consistent. Some of them pixellate something terrible and some look really good. It's not the website, it's my shortcomings in the best way to save and display images for the web.:screwy:

Well done Baz, looks great. I still have you bookmarked ;). Good luck with it all.:thumbsup:
Hi Baz,
Site looks great, the thing(!) up top that moves with the mouse is cool.
On the Image Gallery page, are there supposed to be thumbs of the images?
Seems to be loading the full size images as thumbs. Bit of a bandwidth hog.

Yeah... I had this same problem on my old website. I always thought thumbs were supposed to be representations of the full sized file. These appear to be miniature versions of the full file..I have asked my contact on the host how we can fix this.
Simon, thanks for pointing it out mate. It's all part of improving the site and bringing a better resource to people.
Cheers!

Very nice Barry. Clean, elegant, and functional. The mouseover header mechanism is pretty unique. The Joomla template you've chosen is kinda cool. Without wanting to appear "controversial" in any way - this site is far less overtly "spiritual" than your last one - and that, I think, will likely serve to boost your overall exposure without lessening your own intended message to those who subscribe to what is otherwise a very good astronomy-related site.
From a design point of view, I really like it - well done.

Hi Baz,
Site looks great! :)
I'd like to make one suggestion, though, and, that is to see if you can convert the icons on the main page into links themselves.
I think it would be far easier to click them than to have to navigate to the "Read more" link every time.
Other than that, well done. :)

Humayun

Thanks Doug!
Thanks heaps Chris. I know the subject is avoided here mate, and I will not abuse that, but I will never hide my faith and that's all I'll say here.
Lots more work to go yet, but at least it's up and running now.
Thanks Humayun. Way ahead of you mate. I have it being worked on right now. Hopefully a few things will be changed, sorted out and fixed up over the next few days. Those Icons were high on my hit list...
Thanks everyone for your continued support, encouragement and helpful suggestions! Bless you all!;)

Baz, what a job you have done !
Under time lapse there is a space needed between slow-movingsubject
Also as with my site I embeded the Youtube URLS to great effect as the videos are contained within your site (very important as per feed back I have had).
What a great site you have ( I learned a lot)

Thanks David, I fixed that space....I will have to go over each page in turn and proof-read. I have learned more since I wrote them, so some things will have to change anyway.
There is a problem with the U-Tube flash embedded code on my platform. I have a few movies to put on the pages so they can be viewed there without having to navigate off-site. We have been looking into it for a few days...part of the fixing. Nearly there.
Cheers for the tip!

Hooray!! I finally got the time-lapse page back up on ASIGN. Thanks everyone, for your patience while I repaired the major setback after my site was so suddenly deleted from the previous server...:mad2:
The page should hopefully provide good information on how to get started.
Enjoy the videos and stay tuned for more!
