Eclipse finishes, Mars is just edging 30 degrees in altitude and through the eyepiece the seeing seems to have settled nicely. A nice view of the volcanoes face, so I jump into gear for an imaging session.

Drag out the laptop, power cord, accessories, and then a big bank of cloud comes over across Mars.

Fingers crossed it goes away soon.

You're right, the clouds have gone!

Avi's are being recorded!

The seeing is pretty ordinary, but I might salvage something.

If you want to photograph clouds it will be clear. Therefore plan to photograph clouds when you want to do astronomy, I think.

I know the feeling. HRH is away for a couple of days, got the LX out to cool at 7PM, I am free to observe all night if necessary and what happens, clouds roll in by 9PM and stay there all night.

aaarrrhg, but Phil, the clouds were gone by sunrise though!!!!!

it was only from 10:45pm local time to when saturn was viewable that the clouds were out. once the sun made it too hard to see saturn, then all the clouds went away!!!!
