This image of Jupiter was taken last Friday at 9:38 pm using 5 mm eyepiece projection.
Could the spot be the latest impact?

The spot is not close enough to the pole, and too large to be the impact spot. Looks more like a dust mote :(

It could also be an imperfection in the eye-piece. I use a Meade 3X Tele-extender sometimes and there are several spots that aren't apparent when using it visually, but with my camera attached you can see them on the laptop monitor. That's what this reminds me of.
