View Full Version here: : Jupiter and Io
Here's a red channel from tonight's run.
Sadly, the seeing didn't get much better than average...but it's an improvement over what we've had for a while.
I'm pleased to report I also captured the impact scar, which certainly appears to be spreading out and taking on a different shape. It's to the bottom right of the planet's disc.
Io is also at right.

Looks very promising Matt. Nice little smudge there too.

Hi Matt
That is a good image - the conditions were so/so last night.
I was out until about 1am and have many AVI's but I do not feel there is much there.
I also wanted to image the Moon later in the session but by the time I swung around to it it was behind a palm tree - it continued to set right behind the trunk from about 11am - I was too lazy to move my scope.
Good to get out there though - and my team did well!

Hi Matt
Nice capture of Io and the Bird Strike!
The seeing didn’t really deliver the goods last night, although you have done a great job under the quite challenging and uncooperative conditions.
Cheers
Dennis
Nice image Matt!
cheers, Bird
Thanks guys.
The conditions certainly weren't as friendly as I'd hoped, but it's looking even better for tonight.
I don't have to be at work until 11am tomorrow, so I'll be out there again tonight and hopefully grab some better data:thumbsup:

Good work Matt,
Shame about the seeing. This run of poor seeing must surely come to an end shortly, even so you have a nice capture of the Wesley impact scar.
Well done
Regards
Trevor
