Just a thought, how would one of these go on the qhy guiders or the wattek cameras to use for guiding through a c8, or a 120mm f5 skywatcher refractor?

If its only for a guide cam David, what about Moggsies reducer?

It's considerably cheaper and doesn't do too bad a job at all.

I've got one you can try out at Astrofest if you like.:) I won't be using it at all so it'd be yours for the duration.

David
Jeanette is right as you dont need an optically perfect focal reducer for a guide scope as its using the central portion of the guide scope and all guiding programs can easily find the centroid of a slightly abberated star anyway

well i was thinking that the balance is about right when i have the C8 on the mount with the two cameras, so instead of using the c8 at f10 i thought that to get a wider field of view with the stand alone guider i could use a focal reducer?

That was for refractors only Jeanette. I've only been experimenting when the cloud disappears for use with guidescopes. doubled up and extended with my 8"sct (dropped down to about f2 or 3 :) ) works a real treat. More stars than I can poke a camera at. They look horrible though

Now you've done it, you've gone and made my buy another doodad.

I'll be giving the Mog reducer a try with guiding on the LX200 :)
