View Full Version here: : Mars on 10th october using lpi
Have been encouraged to post this pic of mars though it only hints at detail. i suspect more practice using the wavelets in regitax would help. also experimentation with gain /exp/quality and number of images captured will improve results .I have taken many jupiter pics with some success though i think mars is a difficult target. Have attached a pic of uranus , just a blue orb! i am limited by alt azimuth tracking on the lx90 and will have to construct a wedge. Any one any plans for one i have se3en some on the web. my material of choice will be plywood?

Hi Phipil,
nice image, and with practice you will get better and better. Also the advice from this forum will assist.
I don't really think you need a wedge, not for lunar/solar/planetary imaging anyway.
In fact I would suggest that for very shoirt exposure times even DSO's will be possible.
Keep at it.

Sweet shots. I dunno why, but I like those cool lil pics of Uranus. It may look like only an orb, but its a cool orb:)

Good one Philip! As you suggest: slightly over done with the wavelets perhaps. That uranus shot looks just like my one & only Uranus shot.
Well done & thanks for posting!
BTW if you ever want a 'which mars pic is worse' competition, let me know!! (I will win! hehehe!)

Thanks for all your positive encouragement. Have stacked a few compsites and comared the result to a starry night simulated picture of mars that night. you can see similar features. Pics attached
