Lost in space, Helix Nebula. Something diferent from my usual shot of the eye of God. Taken with Takahashi FSQ106ED at 530mm and QHY8 cooled CCD. The image started out being 30 X 10minute exposures but again high cloud spoiled the imaging run meaning I only ended up with 9 X 10 minute exposures worth salvaging for the stack.
The weather hasn't been kind but this is one of the problems with living in the mountains.
Not one of my best images but it shows up the wider field this focal length delivers on smaller objects. Still very impressed with the whole setup. I need a new mount so anyone throwing out a Paramount ME, give me a yell.

Great image Doug. Nice and sharp. I just love the field of view. :)
The extra subs would have brought out the faint extentions quite nicely. Too bad about the weather.
Time for an RCOS don't you think? :P

not bad at all doug, i have one cooking that needs more data, i havent been game to push it too hard just yet to get the extra detail. going to have a crack at it tonight for the extra subs (blowing a gale at times)
whats wrong with the G11 it should be more than enough for the short FL you are using?

A very nice smooth image Doug with good detail. Probably a good image to add data to when you have a chance.
Don't get to many nights lately when you can get 30 ten min subs.

Nice shot. Great tracking.
The FSQ106ED is a great scope.
I just picked up a Paramount ME. Big beast. I'll let you know how I like it.
Although your tracking is spot on so you have no need for anything else.
Greg.

Thanks Greg. The FSQ is really something else. It is the usual tak quality we have all come to expect.
Thanks Steve.
Thanks Pete, nothing wrong with the G11. I would just like to get the ultimate for future expansion and have the G11 for a portable.
Looking very good Doug with the extension showing nicely

Having just tried this one myself I'm stunned at how much detail you've got from 90 minutes of data.
Very nice effort that.

Thanks Justin, I would have liked the extra data for this one but doing it from the remote lounge room and not paying enough attention rendered most unusable. Next time maybe.
