THE AWARDS:

*The Awards are attractive Certificates for each section and the best overall wins the 'Erwin van der Velden Award' plus a pair of Bushnell 10x50 Binoculars from MyAstroShop.

David P will be bringing his PC Projector to help display entries. You can enter as many pics as you want and in any or all categories, but the pic must be taken at the Camp, not an old pic.

The categories are:
Best Planetary
Best Nebula
Best Galaxy
Best Star Structure (incl Globs)
Erwin van der Velden Award for the Best Astropic overall.

For those that are attending the camp can you please fill in the Poll at the top of this thread, as I need to know the level of interest so I know whether to hold the Competition or scrub it!

The section 'Yes, but with help' is for people like me. I have the Scope & Toucam, but will need help with a laptop to capture (I think Dave P will be helping me with that) or you have a camera and will need somewhere to upload the pic, or like Mike below has the photo equipment but will need access to a scope.

I'll have my laptop, ToUcam and knowledge in my head, but no scope. So if I was to enter it would be using someone else's scope.

Maybe Terry will loan me his LX200 for 4 days :)

That'll work too. I'm sure there will be scopes to place your TouCam in Mike.

As much as i would like to Ken, and the day will come in the future i guess but i don't have the gear for imaging. Would be intresting though to see a camera on the Tasco and see what results would come out of it compared to other members which have the set up already.. :confuse3:

just an idea.

for noobies, i would suggest that this category can be a group processing effort for those happy to enter this side for things.

ie ken snaps some mars vids and a few of us sit down and process on my laptop to help each other. someone might be trying dso's for the first time and their may be some great photoshop or iris tips etc etc Ken still gets the recognition and entry etc.

Just remembering strikers dso stuff from a few months ago and all the tips that flowed from that was great!

people can do their own thing of course, but not be afraid to ask for help and also enter the comp???

isn't it handicap ie weight for age???

not to worry, all images have to come thru my computer for verification processes and ken still knows how to do balls and all tackles on tripods doing long exposure work!!!
