This is one I took the other night down at Magellan Observatory using my FS102/ST-8i and 7nm Ha filter on my G11 guided by an FS60-C/QHY5 combo.
3x600 sec subs stacked in PS CS3.
Thanks for squizzing!

Very nice for only 30 minutes worth Chris. Imagine what you would capture in a couple of hours and how smooooooth it would be.

Thanks fellas :) Now that I have two of the three filters I want, I guess that I'll be starting to use the SBIG again.

Don't usually go for B/W myself, but that's very nice Chris. Beautiful contrast coming out of it.

Thanks a lot Matty, David, Rob & Fred :) Cheers!
Fred - thanks. A couple of your narrowband images of late are my inspiration. I hope you're happy with yourself.

Excellent shot Chris - plenty of good detail there. I do like the b/w H alpha shots - there's just something about them. Good focus, nice round and tight stars too.

looking good, the detail in the core areas looks great. i would probably do a little cosmetic surgery on the dark line above the hourglass, a little bit of cloning should tidy that up.

I cant wait to see what you can do when you line up SII and OIII filters !! :) Looking very nice mate.. definitely a lot more "in your face" than my shot of M8 from last weekend.. bit of extra focal length always helps I suppose..
I love NB stars... they're so tiny...
Ps.. I'm always a fan of black and white Ha images.. keep em coming!!

Thanks Clive and Alex :)
Clive - I haven't had time to do any work on it at all unfortunately, so the whole thing was a 5-minute slap-up jobbie. I hope to get far more data this weekend, and will then put some serious effort in. I was just too excited about Ha I guess! LOL!
