For those in SA seeking a little clear skies, I am afraid I have some bad news. Strong storms will be around the State the next few days, with some really nice looking forecasts for people on the Eyre Peninsula and basically anywhere north of about Adelaide. People on the Eyre will have to be careful, by the looks of the models some of these storms could produce damaging winds, (possible tornadoes) Medium to large hail and some flash flooding. This message is not to scare the you know what out of you, but aimed as a heads-up to secure any lose items you have just incase. Tuesday being the main day for the Adelaide area. But Sunday and Monday look good for the Eyre.
As a backup to my heads-up here is the Bureau of Meteorology forecast notes...
A low pressure trough will deepen and extend eastwards across the south of
Western Australia on Sunday, causing an increase in shower and thunderstorm
activity west of a line from about Ceduna to Coober Pedy. Fine and warmer
weather with moderate northeasterly winds will prevail further to the east.
A low will move over the far west of South Australia during Monday bringing
showers and thunderstorms to the West Coast and Northwest Pastoral Districts,
with the possibility of local heavy falls. Isolated showers will extend further
eastwards to Central and Northern Agricultural districts during the day.
Continued eastward progression of the low will extend areas of rain and
thunderstorms over eastern agricultural districts during Tuesday, with showers
persisting over much of the western part of the State.
I am off to dust off the cameras...
