Finally. The sweet taste of progress over what’s been a long slow road of frustration.:screwy:

20, 2 minute frames using a 150mm f5 GSO reflector with Adrian Quins wonderful coatings on the primary, Perched atop a HEQ5.

D200 with onboard noise filters plus a couple of darks at prime focus driven by an Asus EeePC.

It’s far from perfect, I think a little more patience with drift alignment and focus will help but, it all worked as has been on the lounge room floor and I'm happier.

Please feel free to comment honestly on my processing efforts.

Many Thanks
Deeno

Always good to see you Andrew.
Wouldn't be right without your laughter echoing across the field. Followed closely by the sweet acrid stench of a half chewed stogie!

Deeno,

Love the Swan, it is very clear.

Can't wait til you get longer subs to really fill it out.

Isnt it just the best feeling once you start to get yer head around all the processes involved in producing an image out of the blackness ... I reckon EVERYONE who has ever had a dip in the astrophotography pool knows when this happened for them .. well done Deeno .. like to say its smooth sailing from here but sometimes it isnt hahahahaha .. once more .. I like your image and toast your successes.

Excellent result Deeno my man. Good contrast and color. Isaac's mirror work hasn't diminished any light gathering ability there mate. Clarity is good also. Great stuff.
Cheers

Hi Deeno,
Great effort there buddy.
On my computer the image has loads of details but it looks a little light and grainy in the background.
Maybe thats just my computer settings.
The tracking looks good too.

Glad it all worked well and you had success with the new gear.

Very nice clear rendition of the swan. a very pretty nebula. A bit more exposure would bring out a lot more of the nebula. Looks like you are now on that long expensive slide into astrophotography.

Nice image.

Nice image with good tracking, looks like you are set up and ready to go.
Longer subs and plenty of darks will give great results.
Well done.
