As Mike has asked the question in the Star Camp thread, it would be good to know what Telescopes will be there. For those attending, let us know if your coming along with a Telescope.
I will be bringing my little Tasco and my Binocs.

I'll be bringing my eyepieces and my binos. Oh and my laptop and my ToUcam and my camera and my tripod.

Not enough room to fit the scope in the back of the car with a wife and 3 kids and enough clothes to last us 10 days on the road.

My LX200 will be there for at least one of the nights.

would have been a good idea putting up a poll for this thread to get a scope count. hmm?

I'll be bringing everything, except the Dork Smith newt. 8" Dob, ED80 on EQ5, 60mm refractor on Dork Smith EQ. I'm hoping there will be someone else with an 8" Dob to compare notes with. :D

I bought a scope especially for the occasion (AOE90S) as I was too embarrassed to bring the Dork Smith Newt :o and I don't have my big grand scope yet (LX90 :prey2: ).

Even the lowliest of newts can benefit from being collimated. Bring her along ;)

Yehhh allllright then. I'll bring it along.
It turns out that AOE didn't have a 90mm short tube in stock, so I changed the order to the 80mm long tube, which is the scope that I wanted in the first place anyway. It will be good to compare the CA of the AOE80L to the ED80. The 80L has an F ratio that is almost 4 times the aperture in inches so it just about meets that "special" achromat formula rule thingy...

Gee I love technical terms - "achromat formula rule thingy" :einstein:

Good one Stu! I'd be curious too how the long FL 80mm achromat (within the rule thingy) compares with the short-tube 80mm ED.

:einstein: Einstein a chemist??? :scared2:

Stu

What's funny is that I am a chemist by trade, but I have never used a techinal term in my life....except that one above...

Actually the Einstein pic looks more like he is using some sort of deodorant.

Yes in that pic he might be working for some cosmetics company, but that makes it even worse.. :scared:

Bringing a 10" newt + bits. There's *just* enough room in the car for me and it :-)

Looks kinda like this when it's assembled:
