Can't get Youtube at work as it's a "no-no" site, will check at home :)
But there's an interesting article in this month's Bintel newsletter about 2012:

The USS John F Kennedy Aircraft Carrier, essentially a tool of war, crashing into the White House - now there's a political statement!!!

Live by the sword, die by the sword.

That looks like a pretty spectacular movie Trevor. I'll have to keep an eye out for that one.

I don't mind the good old disaster movie.

Cheers

 Did you read some of the comments left?
One deluded soul wanted to know if this was a movie or was it really going to happen.

I am looking forward to 2012 but not for any disasters but for the Solar Eclipse and the Second Transit of Venus:thumbsup:

Did anyone see the Nostradamus special on Foxtel recently.
2012 is the end. (actually 20th Dec 2012)

Financial markets will collapse bigger than 2008
Ice age
and a whole lot more nasty stuff.

I reckon - retire early, to beat the rush! :wink2:

oh, spare me, pleeease.

If, as an amateur astronomer, you think you're getting sick of fielding questions about Mars this August, wait until this movie hits the cinemas and every nuffy in society starts believing it.

Every 2012/planet X believer will be trying for their 15 minutes of fame, and then after 2012, where will they all be??

I once knew of a couple who built an underground nuclear bunker for the Y2K bug. They stocked it with all manner of food and provisions to last them underground for 5 years. Along with the 2012/Planet X nuffies, these are the sort of people in society that are dangerous.

I tried to read them, but some comments just angry up the blood

I like this exchange of comments:

"mayan calendar ends in 2012!!!!

so what, my calendar ends in 2010 and does not mean the end of the world, and lets all remember when our computers calendar ended in 2000 (Y2K anyone?)

my guess is the mayan guys run out of stones."

I'm keenly awaiting all the raging excitement of absolutely nothing happening on Dec 20, 2012

Wonder if all the astronomy stores are going to have going out of business sales that year. :) I'd save my pennies for that. :D

I saw the preview to that in the cinema before watching Transformers 2. It'll be another one of those scoop-out-your-brains-before-entering-cinema jobs -- all eye candy.

That's the whole idea....it's just pure escapism....entertainment only:P:)

It's what happens afterwards, when people starting talking about it, is when you have to sigh and shake your head in disbelief.
