gday - I dont post this as an image of M66 (NGC 3627) but I thought some might be interested in a current supernova in this bright galaxy . It is SN time of the month with the Meade 10 inch on the mount (refractors next week :))
The SN (type IIP) was discovered by South African Berto Monard on 2 July so it might be dimming a bit. It was mag 15.8 at discovery and doesnt seem much fainter in this image taken last night
Anyway for what it is worth someone with the right gear on thier mount might be interested in bagging a nice bright galaxy image with a supernova in it before the moon rises
