just a quick report for what was a small time observing.
When i got home last night it was clear as a bell. When i started observing clouds were coming in for the west... such is life.

My first target for the night was a large but dim glob in Ara. I had tried for this one previously with out luck mainly because i was rushed, this time it was personal... My guide star ,beta ara was easily visible from home and really it was a no brainer from there. about 7 degrees in my finder from b/ara there was a faint blob.
The glob in question is ngc 6397, under a moon lit sky its a nice sight. the core was unresolvable which made it a fuzzy ball, but the said fuzzy ball was bracketed by brighter stars. it looked quite nice. I'll try it again when theres no moon :)

The clouds were heading in fast now from the west to south-west so I headed north... unfortunately this is the most light polluted part of my sky. there were still plenty of stars to see tho (well enuff to guide me around naked eye). I had to be quick as the clouds were closing me out. I stopped briefly at m15 and m2 which looked very similar to each other. both a fairly tight globs but due to light pollution and moon few stars were resolved. and finally the dumbell... twas nothing more that a blur but thats what i expected. I really just want to see if i could still see it :) tho near shapeless...

and so ends the report... went inside and watched rove... by the way, for all you hoff fans out there rove will have the hoffster on his show next week :D
